In a dramatic reversal of fortunes, the Opposition INDIA alliance is leading in more than 220 seats, giving the ruling BJP-led NDA a tough fight, in the elections in India.
The BJP-led NDA is inching closer towards the 300-mark, which makes it nearly certain that it will form the next government barring any major setback in the next two hours of counting.
The current leads have turned exit polls on their head as most of them predicted a landslide victory for the BJP-led NDA and nobody gave INDIA more than 160 seats.
The BJP top leadership is engaged in serious introspection as they were shocked at major reverses in bellwether states, including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and West Bengal.
