From India to Israel and the UK, top leaders sent messages of congratulations, emphasizing strong ties and shared goals with Trump’s new administration. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated “friend “Trump, expressing confidence that the renewed partnership would benefit both nations and foster global stability. “Together, let’s work for the betterment of our people and to promote global peace, stability, and prosperity,” Modi stated. Similarly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed Trump’s return as history’s greatest comeback,” describing it as an opportunity for a new beginning ” in the U.S.-Israel alliance. Netanyahu, who has shared a long-standing relationship with Trump, emphasized his commitment to strengthening this alliance.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also welcomed Trump’s victory, noting the deep friendship between Australia and the U.S., and emphasizing their role as true allies committed to future cooperation. Australians and Americans are great friends and true allies.” Working together, we can ensure the partnership between our nations and peoples remains strong into the future, “he posted. European leaders, though cautious, pledged their support for continued cooperation with the
U.S. French President Emmanuel Macron conveyed readiness to collaborate with Trump for more peace and prosperity .German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and European Commission resident Ursula von der Leyen both expressed hopes for strong transatlantic ties. Von der Leyen described the U.S.-EU partnership as more than just allies while European Council President Charles Michel emphasized a commitment to an enduring alliance based on mutual values.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called for a continuation of the “‘special relationship ” the UK and the U.S., stating, As the closest of allies, we stand shoulder to shoulder in defense of our shared values of freedom, democracy, and enterprise. Meanwhile, Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni underscored the unshakeable alliance between the U.S. and Italy, noting the nations historic friendship and common values.
Leaders from Asia also reacted positively, with Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba highlighting plans to strengthen the Japan-U.S. alliance and South Korea’s President Yoon Suk Yeol emphasizing the bright future of the ROK-U.S. alliance under Trump’s leadership. Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed hopes for U.S.-Turkey relations to deepen, particularly regarding regional and global issues like the Palestine conflict and Russia-Ukraine war.
